If you're concerned, you check that it has done its update by using the Adobe FP check site:

However, it's the Adobe Flash Player Control Console (there's a link to it in your Windows Control Panel) that's the update manger for the version of Adobe FP installed on your Windows-7 system - and (if set to, and I think it is, based on your earlier posts) it should take care of the updating process for you - Note though that there can sometimes be a little delay before it gets around to doing it. Starting with Windows-8, the updates for the Adobe elements within IE are delivered via the Windows Update facility (of the OS, and comes from the Microsoft Update servers). Your Windows-7 version of IE updates its Flash Player (if installed) differently than IE for Windows-8 (and above) does. Anything else I should be worried about? Thanks, Ruthe

So John or bjm - I have Windows 7 IE 11 - so do I have to do something re ? I didn't get the security update (KB3079777) revised today (July 15, 2015) because I do not have Windows 8.1 (duh). Now, do I have to uninstalled anything? I don't remember ever using Foxfire or Mozilla (and I probably won't ever use either), so if I still have to uninstall anything? And if so, you don't want me to do it from the "Programs and Features" but from Foxfire/Mozilla browser (and how do I get to them?) Sorry, but I somewhat clueless re computer knowledge. I also have Adobe Shockwave Player 12.0 Version 12.0.7.148 installed and Adobe AIR Version 2.0 installed (already installed when computer was purchased). So all three: Adobe Flash Player 18 ActiveX Version 18.0.0.209, Adobe Flash Player 18 NPAPI Version 18.0.0.209 and Adobe Reader XI Version 11.0.12 have all been updated/installed today. That has been replaced with Adobe Flash Player 18 NPAPI version 18.0.0.209 and I always had Adobe Reader (don't know what version) but it is now Adobe Reader XI version 11.0.12. I no longer have Adobe Flash Player 17 NPAPI version 17.0.0.191. Well, things have changed since my previous post. You can verify the new installation (version) by returning to the aforementioned Adobe check website again (using your Firefox? browser).

Note: Be sure to deselect any optional / additional offerings (on the player download page).Īfter it downloads, exit your (Firefox?) browser and double-click the installer that you just-previously downloaded. Use the download link located there (shown above) to download and save the updated installer onto you system. Firefox) to navigate to the Adobe Flash Player check/verification website: To do this you need to use that browser (i.e. If you no longer use such a browser, as a safety precaution, you should simply uninstall the NPAPI version using Windows Control Panel. If you use Firefox (et all derivatives) then you should update the NPAPI too - that 17.0.0.191 version you have installed is pretty old. It's the version that gets installed to support Netscape/Mozilla based products (i.e., Firefox).
NPAPI stands for Netscape Plugin Application Programming Interface.
